Digital Hub Facebook is coming to the Summer Slam in Bonn
Bonn · The Digital Hub Bonn is expecting over 1000 visitors to its Summer Slam on Monday. The event will allow founders, investors, researchers and other interested parties to network. Facebook will also be at the event.
The organiser is already expecting more than 1000 guests when the digital community gets together this coming Monday at the Bonner Bogen. The organiser, Digital Hub Bonn, opened its first location in Bonn in February. There are now 50 workstations and two conference rooms available for young entrepreneurs in Rheinwerkallee. The hub wants to become a centre for start-ups and to connect them with established companies.
In accordance with this theme, next week’s Summer Slam will bring together founders, researchers, politicians and investors. The General Anzeiger is the event’s media partner. The name Summer Slam refers to part of the programme, namely a competition between twelve start-ups. Founders have three minutes to present their ideas to the public in the best way possible. Telekom is providing an award for the winner.
Facebook will attend event
A total of over 50 start-ups will also be introducing themselves at an exhibition. Facebook has also said it will be there on Monday. Xochilt Balzola-Widmann is the head of corporate development for the social network in German speaking countries and will talk about the internet in 2025 at the event. The talk will concentrate on how to win new customers with the help of digital media. Social networks have no geographical borders, making it possible to expand internationally. Balzola-Widmann wants to give entrepreneurs tips on how they could use such digital media to ensure business success.
Lawyer with Youtube channel will advise entrepreneurs
The Cologne lawyer Christain Solmecke will also attend. He has published several books on social media and the law and writes a weekly column “Law on the Web” for the Express daily newspaper. He and his law firm also run a Youtube channel on this subject.
“We want the Summer Slam to clearly show what the digital scene and community have to offer,” explains Markus Zink, managing director and chairman of the Digital Hub. Alongside the official programme there will be a summer party on the grassed area of the Bonner Bogen with a view onto the Rhine.
Anyone interested can still register until Friday free of charge. The Digital Hub currently supports 18 start-ups.
