The days of the old Haribo factory outlet on Friesdorfer Straße are numbered. Since Wednesday, demolition equipment has been on site, waiting to be put into action. Ivo Gotsche, head of the regional office NRW of the investor Garbe Immobilienprojekte (Garbe Real Estate Projects), told the General-Anzeiger on Thursday that the demolition job should be completed by Christmas at the latest.

The company had taken over the property and thus the entire project from the Bad Godesberg Hafa Group. At the beginning of 2020, the new owner wants to start construction of the new Bad Godesberg police station opposite the current kitchen design store as planned.

When the project is complete, around 90 policemen are expected to work in the building which will have three floors plus one floor which is set back. By 2023, the entire area should be ready - including around 70 apartments and a day-care center with three floors.
