Bad Godesberg shopping Fronhofer Galeria re-opens
Bad Godesberg · Today, the Fronhofer Galeria will open its doors following a half year of repairs. While most shops will open, a few are not yet ready.
It’s news that just about everybody in Bad Godesberg has been waiting for: The Fronhofer Galeria is open again. Center Management reports that this Thursday, most of the shops will be open for business. The Drogeriemarkt dm, the bakery and bistro are not quite ready, however. Tchibo also remains closed, and will open on Monday, December 12.
The underground parking garage is also not finished. Architect Helmut Raab says it is expected to open in mid-February.
As reported, flash flooding dumped four million liters of water into the Galeria and underground parking garage on June 4 during a severe storm. Since then, the shopping center has been closed and information about progress has come only haltingly. This has caused Benetton and two shops from “Mi-parti” to pull out of the shopping center altogether.
Damages were high and many repairs had to be made in terms of masonry, electronics, air circulation, communications and technical facilities.
