The public prosecutor’s office in Munich is investigating the case of the currently detained assistant nurse in connection with ten deaths all over Germany to find possible links. Also, the indications that the suspect has worked in Bonn, have grown stronger, as Attorney General Anne Leidig told the General-Anzeiger on Friday.

The death of an 87-year-old care patient killed with insulin in Ottobrunn near Munich alerted the law enforcement authorities to the 36-year-old Polish man. The investigators are convinced that the nurse-aid was the culprit. As part of the investigation more and more indications appeared which might be connected to the nurse-aid. „The numbers of tips from all over Germany is higher than 50. We were told of 49 places where the suspect is said to have worked“, said Leidig. Six of these work places are in North Rhine-Westphalia, one of them in Bonn.

Investigations still at the start

Further information about the place was not delivered by the Attorney General. The investigation are still at the start, but they were „working at high intensity“, she said. The tips from the public were also all „very detailed and well relevant“.

The fact that the nurse-aid was not employed officially as a staff member in nursing homes or hospitals but as a private care help in people’s homes, made the investigation more difficult though. While some of the employers noticed cases of theft or inexplicable deterioration of health, others haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary.

Two corpses have been exhumed already. A cooperation with the ZDF TV show „Aktenzeichen XY... ungelöst“ (a show which re-enacts unsolved crime cases to find more witnesses or the suspects) has been considered to gather more information. The police have published a picture and the full name of Grzegorz Stanislaw Wolstajn and are hoping to get more tips from the public.
