Roncalli Circus leaves ground in tatters
Bonn · The Circus Roncalli left quite some traces after its three-week residence in May. There’s practically no grass left in the Stadtgarten near the Alter Zoll, where principal Bernhard Paul and his artists had set up their tents.
A few days ago, the city council fenced in the area to enable the restoration of the spot which is very popular amongst Bonn citizens. At the beginning of the coming week, a contracted firm will beginn to repair the damage. According to the press office this might take some time. Approximately four weeks are scheduled for the works.
The fence will stay during that period of time, so the surface does not get stepped on. The most-damaged parts will be covered with instant lawn, others will be seeded. The costs for the repairs will be born by the circus, contractually. The city council did not comment on the exact amount of the costs. Original text: Bernd Linnarz Translation: Mareike Graepel
