As the officers disclosed, two masked men came into the diner at around 10.30pm on Tuesday evening. One of them threatened the employee in the diner with a firearm, the other one demanded to be handed the cash. The employee gave him several hundred Euro. The robbers put the money into a rucksack, fled from the diner and ran alongside the stream in Mehlem.

The police were called out and set a search in motion immediately but have not made any arrest yet. One of the culprits, carrying the firearm, is thought to be 1.80 meter tall and of slim build. He wore a dark green skiing mask, a black hoodie and dark blue denim jeans.

The second culprit, who spoke broken German, is thought to be a little bit smaller than 1.80 meter. He was of strong build and wore a dark skiing mask, a black hoodie and cargo pants with pockets on the side of the legs.

According to police information, both men seemed to be of Southern European or North African origin.
