Last Thursday, customs investigators had already identified a plantation with 1000 plants in a historic building in Bröl, which would have had a street value of about 500,000 euros. According to police reports, the factory hall in the industrial estate was also elaborately equipped with professional lighting and ventilation systems in order to create an optimal environment for the cannabis plants, which would have been ready for harvesting in about four weeks.
According to the police, people were not found in the vacant building. The forensic department has secured extensive material. After completion of the first measures, the growing facility was dismantled. Samples are retained from the plants, the rest is disposed of in a controlled manner. "It is to be assumed that the sales value of the marijuana would have brought in a seven-figure amount with harvesting", said the police. The investigation is ongoing.
