November 15 - 17: Weekend tips for Bonn and the region

November 15 - 17 : Weekend tips for Bonn and the region

It may be chilly but there is plenty to warm you up this weekend. The Bonn Players perform “Ghosts”, and on tour in Europe, Iron & Wine bring you soothing folk rock indie music. If you like Frank Sinatra, you will enjoy Tom Gaebel and his orchestra. And be sure to visit Cheap Art for inexpensive works from local artists.

“Ghosts” from the Bonn Players

Brought to you by the English language theater group The Bonn Players, this play from Henrik Ibsen will be showing at the Brotfabrik from November 12 - 16. The play premiered in 1882 and its scathing commentary on 19th century morality labelled it shockingly indecent and controversial. Now the play is back and it is just as telling as ever. “Ghosts” focuses on Helene, who has spent her life suspended in an emotional void after the death of her cruel but outwardly charming husband. She is determined to escape the ghosts of her past.
