Through a press release of the Bonn International School on Friday evening, another confirmed infection of the coronavirus became known in Bonn. As the press office of the city of Bonn announced on Saturday morning, it concerns a 13-year-old student.

According to the school management, all parents and staff were informed immediately. The school is expected to remain closed for the time being until March 23. "Teaching is to be continued via an online learning portal," said director Patricia Baier.

The city will officially order the quarantine of the approximate 40 to 50 students and teachers who have had direct contact with the boy. They will be asked to remain in quarantine at home. On Saturday morning, the public health department was still trying to inform the parents who had not yet been reached. In cases of children who show symptoms, the fire department will be sent out to get samples for testing.

So far there had only been one case in Bonn. It was a 22-year-old university student who had celebrated carnival in Heinsberg.

The press office of the city of Bonn points out that the city must first report positive corona cases to the State Center for Health of North Rhine-Westphalia before it can pass the information on to the public. This means that under certain circumstances there may be delays in the flow of information. Orig. text: ga.de Translation: Carol Kloeppel
