Unknown people have stained the façade of the Stadthaus on Berliner Platz and the Hilton Hotel on the banks of the Rhine with paint. The Bonn police are investigating both cases against unknown persons. The perpetrators would probably have thrown paint bombs. The police are investigating a connection between the bombs, but according to their spokesman Markus Beyer, they have no information as to who the perpetrators might be.

Markus Schmitz, employee of the Bonn press office, said that the administration had commissioned a specialist company with the cleaning. "The estimated cost is about 4,500 Euro." The façade of the City building was probably soiled at the weekend, according to Beyer.

The hotel reported the incident on Sunday. Hilton director Angelika Zupanc explained that the paint was difficult to remove. "This is very annoying, especially as we only had it painted two years ago." The paint pools reached up to the third floor of the hotel.
