Deutsche Bahn is currently renovating the roof at the main station and will erect a crane as part of the work. This will require stopping SWB trams services in front of the main station from Saturday, 1 February to Monday, 3 February. This has now been announced by the city bus und tram company. The bus routes will be diverted around the road closure and then follow the conventional route. Normal traffic will also affected by the closure.

The rail replacement service for lines 61 and 62 will operate on the above-mentioned Saturday from 8 p.m. and until Monday at 4 a.m. During this period, line 61 from Auerberg will travel the regular route to the Thomas-Mann-Straße stop and from there back to Auerberg. The line 62 in the direction of the main station will depart from the Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz stop to the Stadthaus stop on the regular route of the 66 and will continue to the main station (U-Bahn platform 4). The line 62 will return to Oberkassel from underground platform 3b.

A tram replacement service will be in operation

A replacement bus service will operate between the main station and Quirinusplatz. The replacement stops for buses will be near the tram stops. Customers will find notices at the respective stops. At the central bus station the replacement bus service will leave from bus platform D1. Line 65 will run between Beuel Bahnhof and Auerberg at regular intervals.

The regular bus service will also experience changes: The area between the bus stops Thomas-Mann-Straße and the Bonn bus station will be completely closed from Saturday evening to Monday at about 5.30 a.m., also to regular buses and normal traffic.

The following bus stops will be affected by this closure, because the diversion of buses in the direction of Nordstadt and the other side of the Rhine will pass through Kaiserplatz, Hofgarten and Koblenzer Tor: The bus stop Thomas-Mann-Strasse will be closed. Passengers will be directed to the bus stop Bonn Hbf/Zentraler Omnisbusbahnhof (ZOB) for lines SB 55, 529, 537, 540, 600, 601, 603, 606, 607, 608, 609 and 640. Passengers for the lines 550, 602, 604 and 605 can alternatively use the Stadthaus stop in the direction of Bornheimer Straße.

The Friedensplatz stop will also be suspended. An alternative stop for the lines SB 55, 529, 537, 540, 600, 601, 603, 606, 607, 608, 609 and 640 will be the Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz/Beethovenhaus stop on Berliner Freiheit (in front of the Hotel Rheinland) and the stop Bonn Hbf/ZOB. Passengers travelling northwards on lines 550, 602, 604 and 605 can use the Stadthaus stop.

The Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz/Beethovenhaus stop in the direction of Beuel for the lines SB 55, 529, 537, 540, 600, 601, 603, 606, 607, 608, 609 and 640 will be moved to the replacement stop on Berliner Freiheit at number 11 (in front of the Hotel Rheinland) or to the Bonn Hbf/ZOB stop.

Because the road closure means that buses heading towards Weststadt cannot travel via the north underpass, they will be diverted via the south underpass. Therefore the following stops cannot be used: The Herwarthstraße stop in the direction of Duisdorf, Brüser Berg, Malteser-Krankenhaus and Ückesdorf will be closed to regular buses. Passengers for the routes 604, 605, 606, 607, 608, 609, 610 and 611 can use the bus stop Bonn Hbf/ZOB or Poppelsdorfer Allee. The bus stop will also be closed for regular buses in the direction of the main station.
