American-German Business Club Bonn Thanksgiving Dinner 2019

On Thursday, November 28, the American-German Business Club Bonn would like to invite you to celebrate Thanksgiving with them. Each year Americans in the United States celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday on the fourth Thursday of November. Most families follow traditions begun on the first Thanksgiving, but many have their own traditions that they follow each year. Here in Bonn, AGBC is looking forward to celebrating together with the international community and continuing this wonderful tradition.

Note: 3-course meal, water and one additional drink are included in the price.

We have only 15 seats so please decide quickly.

Advent market in Duisdorf

The Advent market in front of the Rochuskirche in Duisdorf opens on Friday for the 32nd time. Twenty-one stalls will offer food, snacks, potato pancakes and mulled wine throughout the weekend. Matjes rolls, icebreakers and Rostocker are now part of the tradition. In addition to a children's carousel, an extensive and musical stage programme will also be set up. After the opening on Friday, the Musikverein Duisdorf will perform a Christmas concert in the evening.

My'tallica – A Tribute to Metallica

The name Metallica is enough for some fans to start to head-bang. At least there are some tribute bands in Germany that bring the sound of the rock icons to smaller halls in the country. The band My'tallica also features classics like "Master Of Puppets", "Seek And Destroy" and "Enter Sandman". On Friday evening, the quartet from the Koblenz area also wants to heat up the harmony. From the highlights of the first five albums to the 2016 studio album "Hardwired...To Self-Destruct".

Charity Concert #playingwithlove

The Bonner Bethlehem Soccer Club (BBSC) project supports a Christian school in Bethlehem, which is mainly attended by Palestinian children and young people. With benefit events and partnerships, the club wants to create more opportunities for the pupils and promote sport. The entrance fee for the concert series at the Dubliners Irish Pub goes to the BBSC project. The bands bring blues, rock and pop ballads to the stage – and all perform without payment.

"Heavy Soul Band" in the Pantheon

The genre of soul should reflect the emotions, longings and self-confidence of the musicians and singers. That music means a lot to Daria Assmus can be felt with every note. Daria Assmus brings her energy and dynamics with the Heavy Soul band and further guests on the stage of the Bonner Pantheon.

Art Exhibition EXCELLENT #4

Every autumn, a scholarship holder of the Kunstfonds presents their own projects at an exhibition in the Kunstmuseum Bonn. Aachen-born Agnes Meyer-Brandis developed a sign system for her project whose works can only be viewed under a microscope. Minimalist art – in the truest sense of the word.

Design market in the factory 45

Factory 45 will open its doors on Saturday for anyone wishing to try out an alternative to the classic Christmas market. The design market presents young and creative ideas, street art and handicrafts, and a large selection of what the region has to offer in terms of design.

Toys2Masters Finale

In the final of the local band competition Toys2Masters, the winners of the rankings can prove themselves one last time. The competition has been supporting young artists from the local music scene for 25 years and this jubilee year also has prizes worth 40,000 euros to win. Among others, the bands Twentyseven, Stattlandfluss and Sybergy will perform on Sunday in the Brückenforum. Last year's winner, the pop-rock group Attic, will play as guests.

Cheese fondue in the Limes

The Limes has almost developed a tradition in Bonn's old town. Instead of beer being served over the counter, cheese fondue is served on Sundays in December. On Sundays until Christmas, the pub serves an all-you-can-eat with cheese, optionally with cherry brandy, various baguettes, grapes and potatoes. Reservations are accepted at the bar.

Photography of the Weimar Republic in the Landesmuseum Bonn

The exhibition on photography in the Weimar Republic can be visited in the LVR State Museum until 19 January. The expressive pictures are accompanied by facts and information about the important period. 14 chapters and 350 original photographs provide an overview of the fascinating time panorama.
