Bonn · At the weekend there is a lot to going on, again (and we’re not complaining): Besides the United Nations Day and the Day of the Fire Brigade, there are a number of concerts and events to visit.
JazzTube Finale at the Pantheon
As part of the JazzTube Festival, a variety of music has been heard in Bonn underground stations over the past few weeks. While the bands played underground in Bonn, the audience could choose their three favourites. At the end of the festival the winners of the voting, the Andreas Theobald Organ Trio, CTO - Clemens Orth and the Cologne group LUAH, will play on the stage of the Pantheon Theater.

Bonn inheritances in the theatre
On Friday, the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn will present a piano concerto for the opening of the Schumann Festival 2019 in cooperation with the Theater Zwickau. The concert will celebrate the 200th birthday of Clara Schumann. She was celebrated as a star for her virtuoso piano playing and her deeds in the German Women's Movement. Beethoven was also one of her fixed stars. Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 is also part of the concert.

Family Malentes 80's Party
From Wednesday to Sunday the Theaterpalast returns to the 80s under the motto "99 balloons". You can expect the hits of the 80s as well as shrill costumes and hairstyles.

Guest on the sofa: Mareike Nieberding
In her book "Verwende deine Jugend", author Mareike Nieberding shows how young generations can make their commitment and interest in politics heard and integrate it into their everyday lives. She calls on young and old to work together instead of slowing each other down. Her work, published in August, is read by Nieberding in the library of the Bonn Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

KAWUMM at the GOP Varieté-Theater
The story of Mr. Mutzmann has been presented more than 430 times in other GOP houses. Since September the play by Markus Pabst can also be seen in Bonn. KAWUMM takes the visitors into the life of Mr. Mutzmann, a civil servant who was lost in everyday life. Only with the help of his imagination does he transform the rut into a heroic story.

United Nations Day
The Citizens' Festival on Saturday is intended to commemorate the UN Charter, which entered into force on 24 October 1945 and has since been the legal basis of the United Nations. In addition to a stage programme, the festival will feature numerous exhibitors and interactive stands on the market square. The 17 sustainable development goals will be presented and the city of Bonn will also be represented.

Day of the fire brigade
Saturday is the day of the fire brigade: The rescue service and the fire brigade present themselves and their work on the Münsterplatz. The vehicles can be inspected and information about the training opportunities is provided. The firefighters present the course of a training mission and their different protective suits, and the vehicles of the fire brigade and the rescue service can be visited.

Cat Ballou in the LANXESS Arena
It has been 20 years since Oliver Niesen, Dominik Schönenborn and Kevin Wittwer founded a school band. Meanwhile they play as Cat Ballou in sold out halls all over Germany. For the 20th anniversary they return to their hometown Cologne and also want to fill the Lanxess Arena with loud Kölsch rock.

Özgür Cebes "Ghettos Faust"
According to his program, the comedian Özgür Cebe is split between two personalities: The boy from the ghetto and the Waldorf pupil. In his current programme "Ghettos Faust", all three personalities talk about religion, racism, the Enlightenment and German pop songs.

West Side Story at the Opera Bonn
The world-famous musical based on the idea of Jerome Robbins has found its way to the stage of the Bonn Opera. West Side Story was inspired by the story of the Romeo-and-Julia theme: two young lovers belonging to hostile groups. Leonard Berstein's music combines jazz and dance music from the 1950s and brings well-known songs such as "Tonight" and "I Feel Pretty" to Bonn Opera.

2nd European Restoration Day
Throughout Europe, restorers give a look behind the scenes of their work on the day of restoration. After a successful premiere last year, the restoration workshops will now be opened for the second time. Guided tours and hands-on activities will also take place at the Landesmuseum in Bonn.

LUPO at the Rudolfsplatz in Cologne
The Cologne dialect band has existed since 2011. Eight years ago, five young musicians had the goal of creating their own music with Cologne lyrics for the carnival. After successes at the "Loss mer singe" award and chart positions, the plan seems to work out. The carnival season is approaching and the quintet LUPO will play on Sunday at the Volksbühne in Cologne's Rudolfsplatz.
