September 20 – 22 Tips for the weekend in Bonn and the region

The weekend is nigh and with it the jazz concerts at Bonn subway stops, the flea market in the Rheinaue, a street festival in Poppelsdorf and the GA-Wandertag in Sinzig. Here are our weekend tips.

Flic Flac presents "PUNXXX"

Just in time for its 30th anniversary, Flic Flac proves once again that it is "not just any circus“ with its new show "PUNXXX", and promises rebellious, non-run-of-the-mill entertainment.

Martin Reinl & Carsten Haffke: "Under Dolls"

The dolls are on the loose again! In a two-hour performance, Martin Reinl and Carsten Haffke slip into more than 40 roles and offer their audience an improv comedy in a class of its own.

JazzTube Festival: White Album Project

Fifty years ago, the Beatles released their "White Album", which has attained cult status. Five musicians from Bonn, whose musical biographies are as different as the music on this album, honor it with their personal White Album Project at the JazzTube Festival.

JazzTube Festival: Kairos

The figure of Cairo from Greek mythology symbolises a favourable moment, which must be actively seized. Accordingly, the three-member band behind this legendary title wants to create their music spontaneously, together and in the here and now.

JazzTube Festival: Afro Sambas

The album "Os Afro Sambas" is considered a milestone of Brazilian popular music. More than 50 years later the singer Mara Minjoli and the guitarist João Luís Nogueira reinterpret the songs.

Beethovenfest: "Symphonic Night Music"

As part of the Beethovenfest Bonn, Dirk Kaftan presents the "Pastoral" after Gustav Mahler with the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn.

Experimenting for children in the Deutsches Museum

Is that possible? In an interactive exhibition at the Deutsches Museum Bonn, children (over eight years old) can test the suitability of everyday things and materials themselves in experiments.

"Highlights of Physics" at Münsterplatz

The science festival about the "Highlights of Physics" offers people of all ages a lot of entertainment through a large participatory exhibition and live experiments on stage. Another open-air stage can be found on Friedensplatz.

Bonn real estate fair in the Telekom Dome

"99 balloons... the '80s fun"

Malentes Theater Palast presses the rewind button - and takes the audience back to the 1980s. The ensemble announces a colourful programme with dance numbers to Nena, Modern Talking or Madonna and countless rousing parodies.

Flea Market in the Rheinaue

Many junk fans have waited longingly for this date: On every third Saturday of the month (for the penultimate time this year) in the Rheinaue there is the opportunity to get one or two bargains while browsing and negotiating.

Poppelsdorfer street festival

Every year, the popular street festival in Poppelsdorf, which is known far beyond the city limits, attracts many people. In addition to a colourful supporting programme by the local clubs, there are two stages with live music. The children can look forward to a bouncy castle and a clown.

GA Hiking Day in Sinzig

The General-Anzeiger invites you to a hiking day in Sinzig. During the hike you can choose from four different routes from seven to 30 kilometres. The finale of the hiking day will take place in the Bad Breisiger Kurpark. In addition to a delicious meal, guests can also enjoy an entertainment programme.

Jazz in the beer garden: Doctor Jazz Ambulance

This Sunday, the "Doktor Jazz Ambulanz" from Bonn will be performing in the beer garden of the Rheinaue. The seven-piece band has been playing hot jazz from an early swing era for over 30 years.

Exhibition at the Haus an der Redoute

"In the past there were embassies here": but about twenty years ago the diplomats left the city district in the direction of the new capital Berlin. In its new exhibition, the House of Redoute recalls the diplomatic city of Bad Godesberg and its developments with photographs by Axel Hausberg, Günter Klein and Markus Schreiber as well as texts by the author Michael Wenzel.

Parade at the Winzerfest in Rech

Once a year, the wine town of Rech in the Ahr valley celebrates a wine festival. The highlight of this festival is the traditional procession through the village. The village surprises again and again with lovingly decorated floats and creative groups on foot.
