Global climate strike "Fridays for Future“ on September 20 : Students travel for free by bus and train on Friday

By a coincidence, many students will be able to travel free of charge to the Fridays for Future climate strikes this Friday by bus and train. Children up to the age of 14 can take advantage of the offer at Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg throughout the weekend.

By pure chance, many pupils can travel to the Fridays for Future climate strikes on Friday free of charge by bus and train. On World Children's Day on 20 September, young passengers throughout NRW can once again use buses and trains without a ticket, as the Düsseldorf Rheinbahn announced on Wednesday. Free travel is possible on all trains, trams and buses in 2nd class - except ICEs and ICs.

Coincidentally, this year's action day coincides with the global climate strike with around 90 demonstrations in NRW alone, which the Alliance Fridays for Future has called for. According to the Cologne public transport authorities, 14-year-olds and under can still use the buses and trains of the Rhein-Sieg public transport system (VRS) free of charge on Saturdays and Sundays.

Around 10,000 participants are expected in Bonn on Friday to demonstrate the Fridays for Future movement from 11 a.m. in the Hofgarten.
