Bonn and the region What kind of weather to expect this weekend

BONN · While the weather was still pleasant on May Day, it will be getting cooler on the weekend. Will it stay dry for Rhine in flames? We have the outlook for Bonn and the region.

April this year was marked by mild weather. Overall, the month was significantly warmer and drier than in previous years. The average temperature was 10.3 degrees, putting it above the long-term average of 7.9 degrees, as the German Weather Service reported on Monday.

For the weekend, the weather services expect significantly cooler temperatures. Overnight to Friday, dense clouds are expected to form in most parts of Bonn and the region. Rain and drizzle cannot be ruled out. Temperatures will drop down to two to nine degrees Celsius. During the day, however, the sun is expected to shine through every now and then. The temperatures will range between seven and twelve degrees. In the evening and at night it should remain predominantly dry.

On early Saturday morning there will be rain again, but in the course of the day the sun is expected to come out. But the temperatures will continue to drop. Only four to nine degrees are expected for a high here in Bonn. The German Weather Service expects snowfall at altitudes of 400 meters and above, with lowest temperatures of zero to seven degrees Celsius.

According to the online weather portal Agrarwetter, the probability of rain on late Saturday evening is five percent. Spectators at Rhine in Flames have to be prepared for light rain only in the early evening. The big highlights begin at 11:25pm in the Rheinaue with well-known songs and music-synchronized fireworks. At this time the sky should be clear. A thick jacket will be necessary however: The temperatures will be just around five degrees Celsius at that time.

On Sunday, the weather should get a little friendlier, with temperatures climbing to eleven degrees. But the night becomes very chilly again. With a low of two degrees Celsius, it brings on that winter feeling. The new week is expected to start out with similar temperatures and weather conditions.

Allergy sufferers should expect a medium strong pollen flight of the birch and a small pollen flight of the grasses throughout the weekend.
