BONN After the cancellation of Sunday’s concert, tickets will be largely refunded. Sting will give another concert, but not this year.
There was bad news for all Sting fans in Bonn and the region on Sunday. The British singer’s concert at Bonn’s KunstRasen was cancelled. The cancellation already looked likely the previous week. Sting had already had to cancel some concerts in other cities due to illness. Sting’s homepage said on Sunday that he had to recover from viral laryngitis. The concert was the highlight of KunstRasen’s 2019 season and was completely sold out with 9000 tickets sold. The only halfway positive news for fans is that the money for the tickets will be almost completely refunded. Only the advance booking fees will not be returned.
The organiser told the GA on Monday that the tickets could be returned over the next four weeks to the places where they were purchased. This rule applies both to advance booking offices and to tickets bought online. At Bonnticket, the costs will only be refunded to the purchaser of the ticket and not to any other ticket user. The company points this out on its homepage.
When asked, the company said customers who bought tickets online should proceed as follows: “To make it as easy as possible for our customers to reverse their purchases, we ask customers to return the tickets to us. We will then promptly refund the full price of the ticket to the payment method specified in the order, provided the organiser has provided us with the ticket price already collected by him. Print@home-tickets do not have to be returned and will be refunded in the next few days after the event cancellation notice.”
If tickets were ordered from the Eventim site, customers can enter their nine to eleven digit order number on the homepage. These can be found in the order confirmation.
The organiser said that Sting was currently being treated by doctors and definitely wanted to rearrange the concert. However, it is not yet clear when this will be possible. The organiser confirmed that they were currently “working on” organising another concert. However, this will not take place this year.
