ZeroHungerRun Welthungerhilfe invites public to participate in run against hunger

BONN · Welthungerhilfe invites everyone to join in a charity run at Bonn's Rheinaue on September 30. The ZeroHungerRun starts at 11am for adult runners, and for children up to the age of seven, it begins at 10 am.

Chief patron of the initiative is Bonn’s Mayor Ashok Sridharan (CDU) and he will be participating in the run, as the aid organization announced on Tuesday in Bonn. Welthungerhilfe is a Bonn-based non-profit agency working in the fields of development cooperation and emergency aid.

Children run 400 meters in the ZeroHungerRun and adults can choose between runs of five or ten kilometers. The starting fee donation is two euros for children and ten euros for adults. Of course, this amount can also “generously be rounded up.” According to the information, 100 percent of the proceeds from this event will go to Welthungerhilfe’s food projects.

The goal is to reach 35,000 euros for the fight against hunger and to increase the number of participants from 2017 when there were 1,700 runners.
