December 28 - January 1 Weekend tips for Bonn and the region

Bonn/Region · It’s a long New Year’s weekend so there is plenty of time to take in a show, visit the circus, go for a hike, put on ice skates or party away New Year’s Eve with music and dance. And the Holiday on Ice show in Cologne promises fun for the family!

Many people will have lots of time on their hands this weekend as we celebrate New Years’s Eve on Monday and New Year’s Day on Tuesday. If you are looking for something to do, here is a list of possibilities. Obviously, some of the events are costly, but there are also a number things you can do that won’t set you back a lot of money; like ice skating, taking the Beethoven Haus tour in English, participating in the hike or going to see the Riverside Lights in Bad Neuenahr. Many museums are also open on New Year’s Day so you might want to check the websites that we have listed in the second to last section (some of them with English versions).

Finally, a little reminder that most shops and businesses will be closed on Tuesday, New Year’s Day.
