Visit the travel fair this weekend or take advantage of the one-day sale of locally produced art at CheapArt Deluxe. On the music scene, there’s everything from Pink Floyd to Celtic folk. And chocolate fans will not want to miss the market in Cologne.

Bonn On Ice

It’s that time of year again with winter around the corner. Anyone who is inclined can put on some ice skates and do some figure eights around the ice skating rink in Bonn city center. Rental skates are available at the rink, Stadtgarten am Alten Zoll, Adenauerallee. Open this weekend on Friday and Saturday from 10am to 10pm and on Sunday from 10 am - 9pm. There is already a very high demand again for curling and reservations are required by signing up online:

Bonn Travel Fair

It’s the first Bonn Travel Fair, with over 30 travel companies taking part. Those interested can get an overview of diverse destinations and types of travel. In one area of the hall there will be talks and lectures about various travel destinations and in the other part of the hall, there will be travel companies offering travel packages and travel advice. The Travel Fair is presented by General-Anzeiger and will be held at the Stadthalle Bad Godesberg, Bad Godesberg, Koblenzer Str. 80, 11am - 5:30pm, Saturday, (0228) 52 88 10.

CheapArt Deluxe

At this unique event in Bonn, over 50 German and international artists will offer their art work for sale for only a few hours in just one evening - paintings and collages, photographs, objects and sculptures of various art styles. And the special thing about this art sale is that it is all affordable, and available at two locations. At CheapArtSensation in Kult 41, no piece of art costs more than 100 euros. At Fabrik 45, art works go from 100 to 1,000 euros. The first event of this kind was held in 1998 and since then, it has become a real people magnet, with more than 1,000 visitors every year. A Tribute to Pink Floyd

The band “Kings of Floyd” offers a musical journey through the successful years of the legendary bank Pink Floyd. Hear everything from "Meddle" (1971) to "Dark Side of The Moon" (1973), "Wish You Were Here" and "The Wall" (1979), along with other well known songs. Matinee concert in Muffendorf

Enjoy this Sunday morning concert in the small historical village of Muffendorf. Featuring works from Schubert, Mozart, and Haydn, with the Chur Cölnischen Orchestra Bonn, Kleine Beethovenhalle Muffendorf, Bad Godesberg, Muffendorfer Hauptstraße 22, 11am, (0228) 32 25 16.

Folk music from the Celtic regions

This is a concert kicking off the "28th Workshop Weekend for Irish Music" from the Ludwig van Beethoven Music School. It will be held on Friday, November 16 in the Nachfolge-Christi Church, Dietrich Bonhoeffer Strasse in Beuel-South. From 8 p.m. there will be folk music from England, Ireland, Scotland and Asturias - with fiddle, bagpipes, flutes, banjo, guitar, bass and singing songs and dance music. One musician is Emily Spiers, an award-winning singer from England. Borja Baragaño from Asturias is a luminary on various bagpipes and a masterful flute player. Bassist Duncan Lyall from Glasgow, Scotland, has been involved in more than 75 CD productions and has toured the world. Musical: Kiss me, Kate

Kiss Me, Kate is a musical written by Samuel Bella Spewack, with music and lyrics from Cole Porter. It premiered in 1948, with more than 1,000 showings on Broadway. Concert with Parisian guitarist

With the theme "Bienvenue à Bonn" the Parisian guitarist Jérémy Jouve will give a concert this Friday at 8 p.m. at the Culture Center Hardtberg, Rochusstraße 269, playing pieces by Bach, Rodrigo and Duplessy. Jouve is one of the leading guitarists in Paris and won the important guitar competition of the Guitar Foundation of America in San Francisco in 2003. Chocolatiers Market from the Chocolate Museum Cologne

The Chocolate Museum in Cologne is celebrating its 25th anniversary and is ringing in the Christmas season with the Chocolatiers' Market. From November 14 -18, numerous stands with a variety of chocolates and sweets await visitors directly in front of the museum. Calling all chocolate lovers - 70 national and international chocolatiers will be on hand. Admission is free. The market is open from Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m..

Scotsman Tom Walker live in Cologne

For the native Scotsman Tom Walker, things are going really well at the moment. Parts of his tour had to be moved to bigger clubs to accommodate a larger audience and he was still sold out well in advance. His single "Leave A Light On" has been ranking in the German charts for 22 weeks now, went to the top of the iTunes charts in eight countries and has been viewed as a video over 50 million times. Already with "Fly Away With Me" he reached almost 20 million hits on YouTube, a total of 100 million streams. “Neville’s Island” from The Bonn Players: English theater brought to you by the Bonn Players. This play from Tim Firth will run from November 20 - 24 at the Brotfabrik in Beuel, Kreuzstrasse 16. It’s about four men who, in the course of their firm’s team-building exercise, become stranded on an island in the middle of the Lake District in England. Their shortcomings become clear when it comes to surviving in their “remote” surroundings. Tickets are €15 euro, students pay €10 and can be ordered online:

Thanksgiving Dinner: The American German Business Club (AGBC) invites members and friends to their annual Thanksgiving Dinner with a 3-course meal, including a traditional turkey and trimmings. Each year Americans in the U.S. celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday on the fourth Thursday of November.
