„Janz schön jeck“ („Quite fun carnival stuff“): That’s is how the weekend events in Bonn and the region can be summed up. But there is a lot on offer not only for carnival fans. Here are our event tips.

Bonn steht Kopp in the Telekom Dome

When Querbeat, Brings, Miljö, the Domstürmer and other greats of the carnival music come together, then it's time for Bonn steht Kopp in the Telekom Dome again. For the first time this year the „jecke“ party will take place on three days. For Friday, Saturday and Sunday, last tickets are still available (status Thursday morning).

Berlin Berlin in Cologne

The new show "Berlin Berlin" has arrived in the Rhineland. The 30-person ensemble transports the visitors to the flair of Berlin in the golden 20s. Sparkling sequined dresses and the musical swing of the "Roaring Twenties" fill the pubs of the capital. Greats such as Marlene Dietrich, entertainer Josephine Baker and the Comedian Harmonists also present the sins and ecstasies of that important time.

Castle lights at Drachenburg Castle

Until 23 February Drachenburg Castle will continue to shine in bright, vibrant colours every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. More than 400 lamps as well as a dozen projectors provide for illuminated trees, paths and bushes. The Nibelungen Hall with its dragon's lair and reptile zoo is again part of the castle's lighting.

Bon Jovi tribute band in the Harmonie

Fans of Bon Jovi will get their money's worth on Saturday evening in the Bonner Harmonie. With the group Bounce comes the most authentic Bon Jovi tribute band in Europe, according to the organizers. The musicians around frontman Olli Heinrich will sing well-known classics like "It's my Life" or "You give love a bad name“.

Convertible bus tour through Bonn

Bonn has a convertible bus again: after the end of the GA convertible bus, a new bus has been driving through the city since 11 January and brings Bonn closer to its passengers in German and English. It starts every Saturday from 12 o'clock. The bus starts at the corner of Budapester Straße and Sternstraße.

Where: Budapester Straße, corner Sternstraße 53111 Bonn

When: Saturday, noon

Tickets: Tickets cost 18 Euro for the big tour "Bonn and Bad Godesberg", 15 Euro for the small tour "Kurz und schön" (reduced eight Euro) and can be purchased on the bus or at the Bonn Information Office, Windeckstraße 1.

Science rally around Poppelsdorf

Participants in the science rally around Poppelsdorf can look forward to a rally lasting about four hours with ten different stations. At each station, new tasks which have to be solved, await the participants. The organiser of the rally is the University of Bonn, with also the Goldfuß Museum and the Geographical Institute among others.

Where: Start and finish is in the foyer of the Meinhard-Heinze-Haus, Poppelsdorfer Allee 49, 53115 Bonn

When: Saturday, the start is possible between 10 and 11 am

Grand Hotel in the GOP Bonn

The variety show "Grand Hotel" in the GOP-Theater Bonn takes a look behind the scenes of a noble hostel rich in tradition. The focus is on the sometimes unconventional guests of the house and also the busy staff. This show is also a mix of artistry, dance, acting and a lot of music. Ulrich Thon is responsible for the direction and the stage design. "Grand Hotel" is on the program until March 1st.

4th Bonn sports meeting

The sports meeting of the Bonner SC and the SSF Bonn also has a firm place in the jecken appointment calendar of the carnival in the meantime. For the fourth time the Jecken meet in the Beueler Brückenforum and celebrate and rock to the music - among others by Cat Ballou, Kasalla and Druckluft. Also dance interludes are on the schedule.

BTHVN week

As part of the BTHVN Week, the Armida Quartet (Martin Funda, violin, Johanna Staemmler, violin, Teresa Schwamm, viola, Peter-Philipp Staemmler, violoncello, Tabea Zimmermann, viola) will perform on Sunday at the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn.
