December 13 – 15 Tips for the weekend in Bonn and the region

Bonn · The whole of Bonn is in Christmas mood - Christmas plays and concerts as far as the eye can see. Yet, the weekend also has a lot to offer in other respects: from cabaret to plays for the little ones… Here are our tips!

"The Truth About Dinner For One."

The legendary (well, in Germany anyway…) cult sketch "Dinner for One" is indispensable for many people at the turn of the year. And in the Contra Kreis Theater, "The Truth about Dinner for One" is now being aired: we go to the year 1962 and to the Edward Taylor Theater in Blackpool, England, where five performances of the sketch will be performed on New Year's Eve. How the curtain opens for only two of the original six actors is explained to the audience in the Contra Kreis Theater.

"The Christmas Bakery" in Siegburg

The musical "Die Weihnachtsbäckerei" („The Christmas Bakery“) tells a story with the help of Rolf Zuckowski's 20 well-known winter and Christmas children's carols about the pre-Christmas season. The three siblings Jonas, Paul and Emily experience some adventures together with their dog Muffin.

"Frau Müller must leave" in Bad Godesberg

The comedy "Frau Müller muss weg" ("Frau Müller must leave“) by Lutz Hübner and Sarah Nemitz will be performed on Friday at the Schauspielhaus in Bad Godesberg. Five adults want to get rid of a teacher who they blame for the bad mood and bad grades in the class. But Frau Müller doesn't make it that easy for them.

Emil and the Detectives at the Jungen Theater Bonn

For the first time, twelve-year-old Emil is allowed to travel alone to his grandmother's house in Berlin. But he does not arrive at the agreed meeting point. He follows an alleged thief. A turbulent adventure based on the novel by Erich Kästner for children aged seven and over.

"Shore lights" in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler

The "Uferlichter" („Shore lights“) in the spa gardens of Bad Neuenahr promise a "new form of Christmas events". Master florist Gregor Lersch creates a dreamlike atmosphere of light and decoration on the banks of the Ahr. There will also be music, regional specialities and unusual offerings at the stands in the park.

Family Malente: Oh Alpenglühn!

The play "Oh Alpenglühn!" tells the story of a successful musical diva who takes a break from everyday life and sets off into the mountains. But the selected wellness hotel is not what it seems. She and the landlord quickly get closer. The piece also has a lot to offer musically. From Heino to Lady Gaga…

Chris Tall in Cologne

Comedian Chris Tall comes to the Lanxess Arena in Cologne with his second stage program "Und jetzt ist Papa dran! The evening promises a lot of fun and comedy.

Cat Ballou in the Pantheon

On Saturday and Sunday Cat Ballou will play her Christmas concert 2019 at the Pantheon in Bonn. It should be cheerful and contemplative. With Cologne melodies and Cologne rock. A pre-Christmas concert of a special kind.

Family workshop at the Deutsches Museum

There is paper everywhere and what can be done with it? In the Deutsches Museum's family workshop, children and accompanying adults face their very own challenges - and build stable constructions and flying objects from paper in teams. The workshop for the exhibition "Is this possible?" is suitable for children aged four to ten.

„Ritter Rost“ in the House of the Springmaus

A puppet theatre tells the story of Ritter Rost and his friends, who have to make sure that "exemplary Christmas" can be celebrated. This turns the otherwise so contemplative pre-Christmas period upside down.

Strauss at the Bonn Opera House

On Sunday afternoon the opera "Der Rosenkavalier" by Richard Strauss will be performed at the Bonn Opera. The piece is described on the opera's website as follows: "The Rosenkavalier stands for the congenial collaboration of the highly productive duo like no other work. After the Elektra, the poet and composer sought lighter material for the new opera".

Satirical Christmas in the Brotfabrik

Sabine Paas and Martin Bross ask themselves in the play "Schon wieder Weihnachten?" where has time gone again. With a bottle of eggnog and lots of stories and poems they pause for a moment during the often hectic Advent season and enjoy themselves.
