BONN There are many ways to spend your free time over Easter. The GA gives an overview here. Many of the excursions are free of charge and suitable for families.
Easter is just around the corner. The General-Anzeiger has prepared suggestions for Easter holidays in Bonn and the region. There should be something for everyone.
The search for eggs can be perfectly combined with an excursion to the Waldau on the Venusberg, which is not only one of the most beautiful playgrounds in Bonn. Together with the rabbit Felix, everyone can set off on the “Path of Biodiversity”. One of the attractions along the way is the barefoot path.
What is more: the wildlife enclosure is full of youngsters – all cute and fresh. Looking for eggs in the Rheinaue amusement park is also fun. The extensive grounds offer many possibilities for playing, picnicking and also barbecuing.
experience the world of sharks at Sea Life
At Sea Life in Königswinter, children can experience the fascinating world of sharks until 5 May. Under the motto “Hai-Live”, everything revolves around the marine creatures. Where do sharks live? How big can they get? These and many other exciting questions will be explained.
Sea Life, Rheinallee 8, is open from Monday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on public holidays, bridging days and in the holidays (NRW) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets can be obtained online at www.sealife.de.
Bonn convertible bus
Starting on Maundy Thursday, the convertible bus will start a two-hour city tour again in 2019. From Monday to Saturday the tour starts at 2 pm; on Sundays and public holidays at 11 am. The meeting point is the Bonn-Information, Windeckstraße 1, at Münsterplatz. Adults pay 16 euros; the family ticket costs 32 euros. The tickets can be booked via the telephone hotline of the Bonn-Information under 0228/775000 or online via ga-bonn.de/tickets.
Ride with the Rheinnixe
The Rheinnixe sets off from the Rhine pavilion, Brassertufer, sails to Beuel and back again. For a long short holiday, there is a book of ten tickets. Timetables and prices are available online at www.rheinnixe.com.
Rainer Selmann offers a tour of the Old Cemetery Bonn on Good Friday. The tour is about “the graves of the 19th century”. Among others, the graves of Schumann, Arndt, Wesendonck or Beethoven’s mother will be visited. The tour lasts between one and a half and two hours. The daily scheduled trips of the Bonn Passenger Ship Tours start their season on Good Friday. Round trips to Königswinter, Remagen or Linz are possible. There are also day trips to the Moselle and Boppard. On Easter Sunday, the “Rhine Princess” leaves for a relaxing brunch tour. From 11 am to 4 pm, a rich Buffet and full sparkling wine glasses can be enjoyed. Skytours Ballooning celebrates the Easter weekend with a “balloon spring” and thus initiates the hot-air balloon summer season in Bonn. From Good Friday to Easter Monday, the balloon rides start in the Rheinaue. Where the balloon goes to is determined by the wind. A ride costs 189 euros. If you are interested, you can register on the website www.ballonticket.de. Those who do not want to make a trip can admire the ascending hot-air balloons.
Football and Theatre Camp
The Bonn International School sports group is organising a four-day football and theatre holiday programme for all Bonn children and young people aged 4 to 16 from 15–18 April. The football camp is run by professional coaches on the school grounds and on the adjoining Rheinaue. A play is rehearsed at the theatre camp and performed on the last day. Easter workshop for children
On this Easter holiday course, children from the age of eight can design their own picture book. Lunch will be served for everyone. The costs for the meal and the materials are included in the course fee of 230 euros. A previous registration is not necessary.
