Bonn/Region · Sometimes the winter weather sends us indoors in search of a warm and cozy place. And a cup of tea is just the right thing. Here’s a list of tea rooms you can visit in Bonn and the region.

Upper Crust

The Upper Crust describes itself as "a piece of England in Bonn". In addition to the famous English tea, the traditional cuisine is reinterpreted here: the classic "fish and chips" are turned into a fresh cod fillet with french fries. There is also a typical English breakfast.

Tea room at TeeGschwendner

The "TeeGschwendner" has been in existence since 1977. In addition to its core business of importing and selling tea, customers can try freshly brewed drinks on the first floor and enjoy breakfast or homemade waffles. If you like it British style, you can also have a sandwich with your tea.

Café Blüte

Café Blüte is devoted to the aromas of various plant blossoms. If tea is normally made from the blanched leaves of the tea plant, Café Blüte only sells drinks derived from the aromas of the tea blossoms. In addition to various varieties from Japan, China, India and South Africa, there are also soft drinks here, which are also flavored with exotic flowers.

VarieTea

One of the most famous tea rooms in Bonn is located on the Marktplatz next to the old town hall. Formerly known under the name "First Flush Teamroom", it changed hands in 2016 and has been called "Varietee" ever since. The tea is always served in a teapot for 6.50 euros per 0.45 liters. The teapots stem from the different eras of tea consumption and are particularly memorable. On warm days there are many varieties also served as iced tea. Breakfast is served from 10 a.m. and small dishes and cakes are served at lunchtime.

Merlê Brot und Teegenuss

Merlê Brot und Teegenuss offers - as the name suggests - besides German and French bread specialities also a wide range of different teas. Most of these come from well-known cultivation areas in India, China and Japan. There are also a few exotic creations, such as the artichoke tea from Vietnam. In addition to drinking tea, customers can also watch the preparation of the various types of tea.

Daisy’s Tearoom and Garden

From Tuesday to Sunday, tea lovers can enjoy breakfast as well as specialties such as Daisy’s Cream Tea and Daisy’s traditional Afternoon Tea.

Comebuy Cologne at the cathedral

Comebuy is a café chain with over 200 locations in seven countries worldwide. The company's flagship is the so-called Bubble Tea, which, unlike many tea bars, is made exclusively from authentic ingredients. The special feature of the preparation is the addition of fruit syrup and tapioca pearls, which give the tea a consistency similar to a milkshake. With branches in Berlin and Leipzig, the Teestube in Cologne is only the fifth location in Germany.
