Speed controls in Bad Godesberg Speeding driver races down the B9 in Bonn at 154 kilometres per hour

Bad Godesberg · The speed limit is 70 kilometres per hour but one driver raced down the B9 in Mehlem at 154 kilometres per hour. He was stopped by police.

A speeding driver was caught driving at 154 kilometres per hour on the B9 in the Bonn city area. The speed limit on Remagener Straße in Mehlem (towards Koblenz) is only 70 kilometres per hour. The driver can now expect a fine of Euro 680, a three-month driving ban and two points on his record, police said on Monday.

Bonn police had set up two checkpoints on the B9 between 7.30pm on Friday evening and 1am and said they had stopped 110 vehicles and checked 120 people. The focus was on speeding as well as consuming alcohol and drugs while behind the wheel. 26 road users were stopped for speeding.
