Cologne/Bonn Airport Police stop passengers with forged passports

Bonn · German federal police prevented twelve persons from entering Cologne/Bonn Airport after checking their identification, and discovering the passengers were traveling with fake documents.

Law enforcement authorities reported on Friday that federal police officers at Cologne/Bonn Airport prevented twelve persons from entering Germany because they were traveling with forged French passports.

They had come from Windhoek, Namibia. All of the twelve persons were aged 18 to 25, and were Yazidis from northern Iraq. They were sent from Istanbul to Germany, having been smuggled in for a five-digit payment per person. After police had completed their work, all of the twelve persons were taken to a state receiving center in Bochum. Orig. text: ga.de Translation: Carol Kloeppel
