Bonn Central Train Station Police investigating possible sex crime

BONN · Police in Bonn are investigating a possible sex offense at the Bonn Central Train Station. On Thursday morning, a woman reported it to a passerby and police were alarmed.

A woman was allegedly the victim of a sexual assault at the Bonn main train station on Thursday morning. Responding to a GA inquiry, police said the woman approached another person at the train station and told him about the attack. Police were alerted and they searched for the alleged perpetrator in the vicinity of the train station.

Because police officers were conducting their search in the area of the platforms and train tracks, rail traffic was restricted temporarily. Trains had to slow down and stop for a short while. According to police, both victim and alleged perpetrator are part of the Bonn drug scene. "Based on the statements of the woman, we are investigating on suspicion of a sexual offense," said police spokesman Simon Rott.

The suspect is said to be a 35- to 40-year-old man and the search for him continues. For that reason, police do not want to give out any details about the alleged perpetrator at this time. They also do not want to release any information about the victim while the investigation continues. According to GA information, she is 45-years-old.

Police hope to find out further information when they question the 45-year-old woman.
