Bonn-Mehlem · During a people check on the John-Jay-McCloy-Ufer in Bonn-Mehlem, police arrested a man wanted with a warrant. His companions were caught with small amounts of marijuana and amphetamine. The police filed charges against them.

On Monday evening, Bonn police caught a man wanted with a warrant and two young men with small amounts of marijuana and amphetamine on the John-Jay-McCloy-shore. Officials searched the three young men, who apparently had arranged to meet there, around 8.30 p.m., police reported on Tuesday. Two of the men (21 and 27 years old) were carrying the drugs. Their 31-year-old companion was wanted for theft with an arrest warrant.

The police arrested him temporarily because he could not afford the demanded fine in lieu of the prison sentence. The 21-year-old stated that he kept another small amount of narcotics in his apartment in Königswinter. Officials searchedthere and seized the narcotic.

The police initiated investigations against the 21- and 27-year-old men for drug-related offences. The 31-year-old was taken to the police headquarters, from whence he will be handed over to a correctional facility on Tuesday.
