Two more people have died as a result of coronavirus infections in Bonn nursing homes. This was reported by the city of Bonn on Easter Monday. One person lived in the Josephinum, and another in the Ernst-Stoltenhoff-House, a Protestant geriatric care center.

This means that there are now four deaths correlated with a positive coronavirus diagnosis. On Easter Monday, the city registered a total of 518 people who had tested positive since the outbreak of the disease. 128 have now recovered, 1033 are in quarantine. The city also reported that 386 are acutely ill.

In order to further combat the spread of the corona virus in Bonn, parts of Bonn's Altstadt (Old Town) will remain closed. The city public order services continued to monitor access to the cherry blossoms over the weekend, preventing larger crowds of people from gathering in the streets there.

Police patrols are on foot in the Altstadt to reinforce the road closures, and a police vehicle puts out announcements over a loudspeaker about the ban on contact. Apart from just a few, the city said that most people were accepting of the police controls.

Since Good Friday, the city pubic order services have had to respond to 145 calls involving health safety throughout the city. Of these,110 violations had to be filed because people were outdoors in large groups which is not permissible.

A larger police intervention was needed on Saturday evening in front of the Frankenbad where it got way too full. It had to be cleared out at around 8 pm. There had been requests for the people gathered there to adhere to the restrictions on contact but these were followed only to a limited degree, according to a statement by the city of Bonn.
