Aggressive teens in Cologne: Police clears Zülpicher place after new escalation

On Saturday evening, the police had to intervene at Zülpicher Platz in Cologne due to increased bodily injury offences. 350 youths had gathered there, partied and drank alcohol until the mood changed for the worse around 5 pm. The police detained several underage troublemakers on site, recorded their personal details and later handed them over to their parents. It was only the evening before that the police on Zülpicher Platz had to take action against a group of about 500 juvenile troublemakers, some of whom had attacked police officers. Weather at carnival: Official warning of continuous rain and squalls in the Rhein-Sieg-Kreis

A lot of rain and strong wind: The weather forecast for Carnival Sunday is very bad this year. Bad luck for the Jecken, who are on the road carnival on Sunday: As a meteorologist of the DWD says, it will rain all day long. Large amounts of precipitation are expected for all of NRW, he said. There will also be "strong to stormy winds", the expert predicts. Gusts with wind force eight to nine are possible.

As a precaution, the Haus der Natur, An der Waldau 48, will remain closed on Sunday.

On Rosenmontag, the weather situation will then calm down a bit. It will remain mostly overcast, but will rain considerably less than on Sunday, according to the DWD. With gusts of wind force five to six it will also be much less windy. Up to 13 degrees is possible. Car chase ends in Hangelar in accident: 16-year-old pretended to be a policeman

The car chase a drunk 16-year-old boy undertook with the police ended in an accident, in which he and a 21-year-old driver were injured. He had previously posed as a plain-clothes policeman and asked for papers. When the driver complied with the request, the 16-year-old had seized the car and fled in the direction of Sankt Augustin/Hangelar. The person whose car he took immediately alerted the police, who soon discovered the fugitive on the B56 in Hangelar. Original text: GA Bonn
