BONN. 3…2…1… Colourful! For the fifth year in a row Bonn dived into a shower of colours at the Holi Colors Festival. 2,500 guests came to the exterior area of the Basecamp. They mostly arrived in white clothes so the colours would stand out more. The sun was shining and snacks and cool beverages were waiting for them. Local and international DJs provided the musical soundtrack to the colourful event. On each hour the paint bags were tossed in the air - to colour everyone while dancing…

Vehicle ignored: Three injured after crash in Troisdorf
TROISDORF. Two cars collided on Saturday afternoon on the Willy-Brand-Ring in Troisdorf. A 61-year-old from Bad Kreuznach and his female passenger had to be brought to a hospital with serious injuries. The 64-year-old driver of the other car was slightly injured. There were brief traffic restrictions in place.

Helicopter in use: Spectacular rescue exercises by the DLRG in Bonn
BONN. Two rescue exercises by the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) took place on Saturday around lunchtime between the North Bridge and the South Bridge. Three people were rescued from the Rhine. A helicopter was also used. The Arbeiter Samariter Bund and the Volunteer Fire Brigade Niederkassel, the Malteser Hilfsdienst and the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) were all involved in this mission as well as volunteers acting as „victims“, the professional fire brigade and the federal police Hangelar.

No age restriction: Pensioners go to Berlin by rickshaw
BONN. The club „Cycling with no age restriction“ is driving pensioners in rickshaws through Bonn for almost a year now. Reconstruction to cost 2.6 million Euro: Station „Gabi“ will cost much more than expected
BONN. The reconstruction costs for the combined station of the public order office and the police will be be much higher than expected - and will amount to approximately 2.6 million Euro. Around a million more than initially calculated. A bulletproof facade, additional interior walls, delays and higher wages for architects add up. This emerged when a new communication briefing was presented, which will be discussed with the works committee of the city council’s building management team.
