Construction site at the Erzberger Ufer New hotel on the banks of the Rhine in Bonn takes shape
Bonn · The new hotel on Erzberger Ufer in Bonn is taking shape. In front of the building, which is located directly next to the Beethovenhalle, a forecourt is also to be created, which will be used for cultural events.
It is visibly growing, the new hotel on the Erzberg shore. Half a year after the laying of the foundation stone, the contours of the new building become visible on the construction site next to the Beethovenhalle, albeit still veiled by scaffolding constructions.
In late summer 2021 - and thus presumably three years before the completion of the Beethoven Hall renovation - the building, which is located next to the already existing "Hilton", will accommodate the first overnight guests. In front of the hotel, a forecourt facing the Rhine is to be created, which will be used as a terraced "city stage" not only for gastronomic but also for cultural events.
It is also planned that the exterior colour and shape of the new building will harmonise with the characteristic brick of the neighbouring monastery school. In this way, according to the architects working with Gerd Wittfeld, the building along the old fortress wall will act as an optical link between the Rhine and the city. As the operator of the hotel, the prizeotel company has committed itself to the location for 25 years. Landmarken AG acts as investor.
