Fans of "Music in the Park" will have to be a little patient. The third edition of the popular series of events under the aegis of the Bürger.Bad.Godesberg association will start on 20 May. But the volunteers have come up with something to make sure that the waiting time is not too long. The "Music in the Park Extra". Although not in front of, but in the drinking pavilion next to the Stadthalle because of the cool temperatures.

"We had so many requests, everyone wanted to play," says club chairman Joachim Schäfer. Although most of them wanted to be at the open-air concerts, they were also convinced by an indoor performance. The concept remains the same: The live music comes from local bands - no matter whether they are already known beyond the borders of Bad Godesberg or are at the beginning of their career. On Saturday, 1 February, "Knauber & Local Heroes" will be on stage. For the first time, Bonn guitarist Carol Knauber and his band will play a completely original programme. On Saturday, March 7, The Mañana People will perform and on Saturday, April 4, The Seven Sins will rock the drinking pavilion. The band offers rock music in all its different stylistic facets.

"Music in the Park" will continue for the duration of the summer holidays and the extra edition will then go into the summer break until September. Then it should continue, says Schäfer. Three of the four acts who will be part of the entertainment until the end of the year have already been confirmed: Moccka, B'n'B Coverband and Blins Summit.

In the Trinkpavillon there are about 90 standing places, but after consultation with the bands the room will also be partially seated. As with the open-air version, "different styles and age groups will be taken into account when selecting the bands," says Schäfer. The concerts of "Musik im Park Extra" always take place on the first Saturday of the month, start at 7 pm and last until about 9.30 pm. Admission is free, but the artists and the association hope "that the audience fills the donation hat just as gladly and well as at 'Musik im Park'", says Schäfer.
