Autobahn towards Cologne More traffic on Konrad-Adenauer-Damm

Brüser Berg/Medinghoven · The detour for the closure at Bonn-north to the A555 in direction of Cologne is working well. More traffic is seen on Konrad-Adenauer-Damm.

Because of the temporary closure at Bonn-north to the A555 in the direction of Cologne, increased traffic has been observed on the Konrad-Adenauer-Damm (KAD). This takes drivers on the detour route. Already at the A565 in Brüser Berg, drivers are alerted with signs to take the Hardtberg exit and follow the KAD. Truck drivers are taking the detour with the result that many more trucks are on the two-lane road than normal. Long lines form at the bottle neck of the crossing at Almabrücke (Alma bridge).

From the perspective of North Rhine Westphalia (NRW) roadworks, spokesperson Norbert Cleve says the detour route is being well received and is not yet being used at full capacity. People who are familiar with the area use other roads to get to their destination. For example, they take the Tannenbusch exit and continue on Lievelingsweg and then the roundabout on the A555 towards Cologne. Cleve notes that the first days of a detour are always a bit tricky but then people get used to the new situation.
