Bonn police are looking for witnesses to an incident early on Saturday morning. Investigators said five as yet unidentified men allegedly tried to rob a 29-year-old at the Bad Godesberg civic hall.
They said the man was walking over the zebra crossing at the Stadthalle bus stop towards Von-der-Heydt-Straße at around 0.55am when the men approached him and asked for the time. When the 29-year-old pulled his mobile phone out of his pocket to check the time, two of the unknown persons demanded he hand over the phone and his valuables. When the man did not comply with this demand, he was physically attacked so that he fell to the ground, according to current police findings.
The 29-year-old suffered injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. His valuables remained in his possession. A search was immediately started for the men who had fled in an unknown direction but was unsuccessful, which is why police are now asking for information from the public.
Two of the suspects are described as follows:
The first person is around 1.85 metres tall and has an Afro hairstyle. At the time of the incident, the German-speaking man was wearing a white jacket and dark blue jeans.
