Bonn Weststadt Masked duo attacks youths in Bonn’s Weststadt

Bonn · Two youths were robbed and injured in an attack in Bonn’s Weststadt on Sunday evening. In the search that followed, police did not find the thieves, but did discover a 16-year-old runaway.

Early on Sunday evening, an armed duo wearing scarves over their faces robbed two 17-year-olds on Immenburgstraße in Bonn’s Weststadt. The two victims were injured in the attack.

The youths were walking along Immenburgstraße at around 7.30pm when they were attacked. The perpetrators have not yet been identified. The masked men threatened the adolescents with violence if they did not hand over their mobile phones and cash. They also hit the two victims on the head with a torch and slightly injured them.

Police said there was then a fight during which one of the youths said he was cut on the hand with an axe-like instrument. The two masked men stole a mobile phone and a small amount of cash and fled in an unknown direction.

Rescue services called to the scene treated the cut on one of the victim’s hand at the scene before taking him to hospital for further treatment. In the meantime, police searched for the two perpetrators. A helicopter was also used and the crew carefully searched the area around the old slaughterhouse.

During their search, police found a 16-year-old runaway but not the perpetrators, who are described by police as follows:

  • between 1.75m and 1.85m tall

  • dark trousers
  • scarf over mouth

Possible witnesses are asked to call police on 0228-150.
