Deadly accident in Deutz Man killed after being hit by tram in Cologne

Cologne · A man died on Wednesday evening after getting hit by a tram from line 7 of the KVB transportation system. The accident happened on Siegburger Straße, which was subsequently closed for a period of time.

A deadly accident with a tram claimed the life of a man in the Cologne district of Deutz on Wednesday evening. It involved a tram from line 7 of the Cologne public transport system, KVB. According to police, the man was crossing the rail tracks at the intersection of Siegburger Straße and Troisdorfer Straße at around 8:41pm, when he was hit by an approaching tram. Police were not yet able to identify the victim.

Police and rescue units were at the scene of the accident until 2am. Siegburger Straße was completely closed off until 11:40pm, interrupting the regular line 7 traffic.
