Underground station Heussallee Man hit by tram

Bonn · Two people were hurt on Saturday afternoon in an accident at the Heussallee Underground station. Police found a seriously injured man lying between the tracks where Lines 16 and 66 run.

On Saturday afternoon, the fire department was called to the scene of an accident at the U-Bahn (Underground) station Heussallee. At around 12:52 pm, they were alerted that a person had been hit by a tram. When they arrived, they found a seriously injured person lying between the two tracks where Lines 16 and 66 run.

A passenger from Holland had already begun to administer first aid when the rescue workers arrived. Another passenger who wanted to help was injured while attempting to get down from the platform to the tracks.

Fire and rescue workers attended to both injured persons and removed them from the Heussallee U-Bahn station. They were then transported by ambulance to a Bonn hospital. How the accident happened is not yet clear. There were major delays in Lines 66, 16 and 63 until later in the afternoon.
