A spokesperson for the Bonn police says they were notified about the discovery and they send a police squad and bomb experts to the scene at about 4:15 p.m. in the vicinity of am Pappelweg.
When it was determined that the grenade was not a danger, it was secured and removed. Authorities at the scene could not say how the World War I hand grenade ended up on the Heiderhof or how long it had been lying there.
