WWII bomb found in Cologne-Ossendorf Ikea needs to be evacuated again

Köln-Ossendorf · During an examination of the soil on a building site at Butzweilerhofallee in Cologne-Ossendorf, a World War II bomb was discovered by workers. It is the second one found within two weeks in the area.

On Thursday morning, a World War II bomb was discovered on Butzweilerhofallee in Cologne-Ossendorf. A similar bomb had been found there already on April 12.

The bomb discovery led to an evacuation of persons within an estimated radius of 400 meters. Authorities are currently informing surrounding businesses and industry about the evacuation and defusing of the 125-kilo bomb. As with the first finding, the IKEA furniture store is affected by the evacuation.
