Up to 15 degrees High pressure system brings warmer temperatures to Germany
OFFENBACH/BONN · While the beginning of the week is still partly rainy, those craving some sun can look forward to some nice days leading into the weekend when temperatures should reach up to 15 degrees Celsius.
Just two weeks before the actual start of spring, some mild weather is expected in Germany. Starting on Thursday, double-digit temperatures are expected in many areas, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD) on Tuesday in Offenbach. The first run of milder weather this year is being brought in by subtropical air, flowing into west and Central Europe. In Germany, the southwest, western and large parts of the north will benefit from the warmer air. DWD meteorologist Martin Jonas reported that the temperatures would reach eleven to twelve degrees Celsius over the weekend and that highs could even reach the 15-degree mark. In many places the sun will be shining.
On Wednesday, however, thick clouds will still blanket the sky in the north and east and scattered rain is expected. In the southwest, there can already be some sunshine and temperatures up to 11 degrees Celsius on the lower Rhine.
According to the DWD, the following two days will be predominantly friendly and dry, with persistent fog and low hanging clouds in some areas, especially in the south. Temperatures are expected to rise up to between six and twelve degrees Celsius on Thursday, but at night it could still be chilly. Beginning Friday, it could reach up to 15 degrees. For meteorologists, spring begins on March 1 and the astronomical spring begins on March 20.
In Bonn and the region, the sun is already expected to peek through on Wednesday evening, with temperatures around five degrees and daytime temperatures of six degrees. Overnight, it should stay chilly at around two degrees Celsius.
