Rhineland Apple Route

The Rhineland Apple Route leads around Bonn through the largest fruit and vegetable growing area in North Rhine-Westphalia. The cycle loop on the left of the Rhine stretches for a total of 124 kilometres. Past fruit plantations and vegetable fields, the cycle path leads through Alfter, Bornheim and the Swistttal, among others, before the route turns back towards Bonn after Meckenheim. In addition to individual route planning through numerous twin routes, the circular route also offers the opportunity to learn more about agriculture and fruit growing at a total of twelve adventure stations.

Rhine cycle path

For all endurance cyclists who like to cycle for several days, the Rhine cycle path offers the opportunity to explore the longest river in Germany and its surroundings. Over five stages it leads from Bad Honnef to Emmerich on the Dutch border. The first stage of the route is ideal for a day trip, passing the Drachenfels and the castles of Augustusburg and Falkenlust on its way to Cologne.

Sieg cycle Path

The Sieg cycle path follows the river of the same name from Windeck to the river mouth of the Rhine in Bonn. The 60-kilometre route is easy to cycle, even with children, without steep gradients and far away from road traffic. A little off the beaten track, there are many opportunities for further leisure activities. Among others, the treetop path Panarbora and the climbing forest Hennef are in the vicinity.

Roman bike tour

The people of Bonn can also follow in the footsteps of the Romans, but by bike and not walking in simple leather sandals. On the circular route of about 15 kilometres, which has been worked out by the city of Bonn, everything revolves around the city's history in Roman times. Old ovens, gravestones, church remains, cranes and monuments from a long past epoch wait along the way.

Museum Route

For a short cultural trip through Bonn the museum route is worthwhile. The route leads along the Bonn museums for about twelve kilometres. The circular route begins and ends at the market and guides cyclists along the Museum Mile, where you can stop at the Haus der Geschichte, the Koenig Science Museum or the Bundeskunsthalle. The estimated journey time is one hour. A brochure of the city of Bonn can be downloaded.

Path of Democracy

The 42 kilometres of the path of democracy are lined with information about current and past political events in Bonn. As the former seat of government, the city offers a wealth of historical sites and stories. Among others, the Villa Hammerschmidt and the Chancellor's bungalow lay on the route as waypoints. The starting point of the round trip is the Old Town Hall in the city centre.

Baroque in and around Bonn

From the Beethoven House along the Rhine to Bad Godesberg, up to the baroque garden of Gudenau Castle and back to Poppelsdorf Castle. The 36 km long baroque cycle path of the city of Bonn offers the possibility to reach many of the famous sights in and around Bonn by bike. Here you can download the brochure of the city of Bonn.
