Ludwig van Beethoven's music not only sounds good, but now tastes great: strawberries, raspberries, apples, oranges, lemons and pineapples. On the occasion of Beethoven's anniversary, the Bonn-based confectionery manufacturer Haribo has produced a special edition of the popular fruit gummies - not as a little bear, however, but in the form of a music note, a clef and the numbers two and zero. Over the past few weeks, the special mix has been in production and filled in exclusive small bags.
However, the special edition is not for sale. If you want to try it, you have to come to the Bonn Rose Monday procession. Haribo donated the musical fruit gum mix to the Beethoven Anniversary Society. At the "Zoch im Zoch” (the parade), where this time everything revolves around the great composer, the fruit gummies will be thrown out as kamelle, the sweets that are typically tossed out from the floats to onlookers. "We've already tasted them. They really taste very good," says Nicole Bangert from the Anniversary Society.
Haribo, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, produced 92,000 of the special Beethoven bags. They were delivered at the beginning of the week. The majority of them will thrown out at the Bonn parade on Rose Monday. A smaller remainder will be kept and will be distributed at other festive events this year.
