Tragic traffic accident Four-year-old dies in Niederkassel after being hit by van
Niederkassel · On Monday evening a four-year-old child died in a traffic accident in Niederkassel. The girl had been hit by a van after going onto the road on her scooter.
A tragic accident occurred early Monday evening in Niederkassel-Uckendorf. A four-year-old girl was hit by a van at the intersection of Niederkasseler Straße and Weiler Weg. As the GA learned on site, the child had gone onto Niederkasseler Straße with her scooter at 7.30 pm.
According to the police, the 54-year-old driver of the van, who was driving from the left towards the centre of Niederkassel, had no chance of preventing the accident. The immediately contacted rescue services were unable to save the child. The four-year-old died at the scene of the accident.
The girl's family, the van driver as well as the emergency service staff were cared for by a team of emergency counsellors on site.
