Accident in Bonn Car plummets from the Victoria Bridge

Bonn · A 21-year-old driver and his passenger plummeted from the Viktoriabrücke (Victoria Bridge) early Friday morning. A blood alcohol test on the driver showed a level over 0.2 percent.

At 2:35 am on Friday morning, a 21-year-old from the area of Düren was driving from Bornheimer Straße towards Endenich, along with his 23-year-old passenger. He apparently lost control of his car while speeding.

Police administered a blood alcohol test on the young driver, which showed a level of more than 0.2 percent. His driver’s license was confiscated by police.

His car broke through a construction site railing to the right and crashed onto Karl-Frowein Straße below. There he damaged several parked cars.

According to police, the two young men were injured in the crash and were taken by ambulance to hospital after initial medical treatment at the crash scene. So far, property damage is estimated at around 30,000 euros. Orig. text: ga
