Bonn Due to work at Bonn main train station, many trains will not call there for several days from the end of June. Only the RE5 and the S23 can call at the station but there will be changed departure times.
Most trains will not call at Bonn main station from Wednesday 26 June until Monday 1 July at 0.30am. The reason is the modernisation work, such as the extension of the platforms on track 3 and the renewal of tracks and points. Only the RE5 regional express and the Voreifel train S23 can call at the station, but journey times will change for the RE5. Some of the long distance trains between Cologne and Bonn will be cancelled completely.
The lines RB26 and RB30 cannot call at the station. The RB26 starts and ends in Roisdorf, the RB 30 from Koblenz will only go to Bad Godesberg station. The RB48 will only call at the main station in the evening hours and runs from there between Cologne main station and Wuppertal. Underground traffic is not affected by the closures.
The Rhineland Local Transport Association, the responsible authority, announced that the Trans’regio train company will offer a rail replacement service for the RB26 between Bonn main station and Roisdorf. On Thursday 27 and Friday 28 June, the company Train Rental will operate several special trains during rush hours between Beuel station and Cologne South and in the opposite direction between Cologne main station and Beuel. Additional staff will provide information on the changes at the main train station and Bad Godesberg and Beuel stations. The NVR requests passengers to obtain travel information in good time at www.bahn.de or www.vrsinfo.de.
Deutsche Bahn confirmed on Friday that the lift to Quantiusstraße at the main station is working again. The repair was actually first scheduled for this coming week. The repair of the escalator to platform 1 is also being worked on. It has been defective for weeks and should be operating again from mid-July.
