Six break-ins since the end of May Bad Godesberg sees increase in burglaries

Bad Godesberg · The police are looking at a series of vandalism and burglaries in Bad Godesberg. Since the end of May there have been several cases in the city.

Looking at the recent events in Bad Godesberg, one can speak of a series of vandalism and burglaries. Since the end of May, the Bonn police have recorded six cases in the city centre, as a spokesperson announced on Monday at the request of the General-Anzeiger newspaper.

Shop for children's fashion

It was in the early morning hours of 12 June when the owner of a children's fashion store on Bürgerstraße was startled by a loud noise. Thereupon, according to the police, he went to the shop shortly before 5 o'clock and noticed that an unknown person had tried to break the window at the front door. The perpetrator is 30 to 40 years old, has dark hair and was wearing dark beige clothes, including shorts. According to the police, it is not yet clear how much damage has been done.

Ice cream parlor

Another case occurred on 11 June between 1am and 5.45am. Unknown persons have smashed the entire window front of an ice cream parlour on Theaterplatz. According to the police, they may have used a hammer or similar tool to do so. It is certain that the attack came from outside: All the fragments were found inside the offices. In this case, too, the extent of the damage has not yet been determined.

Fashion shop

In a fashion shop on Theaterplatz, a glass pane was smashed in next to the entrance door between June 10, 18:30, and June 12, 5:50. In this case the perpetrators were successful. According to the police, they entered the shop, searched the cash register and opened some boxes in the basement. According to the officers, the damage was about 1000 Euros. What exactly the burglars took with them has not yet been determined, however.

Display cases

Unknown persons have smashed the glass panes of a total of 13 display cases, which are located in a passageway between Koblenzer Straße and Hubertinumshof. The rioters were on the move between Whit Monday, June 1, 10 p.m., and Tuesday, June 2, 7.30 a.m. As the police only now reported on inquiry, a witness had heard a loud noise at about 5 o'clock. At 7:30 a.m. the damage, the amount of which has not yet been determined, was then discovered.

Scooter shop

In the night of 29 May, an unknown person had broken into the "Scooter Joey" shop at Koblenzer Straße 65. As reported, he had smashed the glass door of the shop at shortly after 5 o'clock and had thus entered the rooms. When the alarm was triggered, the suspect, who had been recorded by a surveillance camera during the crime, fled.

Gym

A gym on Moltkestraße was the target of burglars during the night of 27 May. As reported, the perpetrators had damaged the front door and then searched the rooms.

Information

Investigators are checking whether there is a connection between the crimes, according to a police spokesperson. In addition, the officers ask for information from the public in all cases. Anyone who has observed anything suspicious is asked to call 0228/150.
