He is 34-years-old, around 1.70 metres tall and of normal build. The man has a shaved head and sometimes wears black glasses. When last seen he was wearing a grey hoodie and grey-black jogging trousers.

According to GA information, no weapon has yet been found at the scene. Police said the 34-year-old could still be armed.

A dispute between four men aged 31, 34, 39 and 44 escalated on Sunday evening around 7.30pm. Police spokesman Robert Scholten told the General Anzeiger that the argument started in the hall where the International West German Fitness and Bodybuilding Championship was taking place on Sunday and then carried on outside.

During the argument, the 34-year-old eventually drew a weapon and shot the 44-year-old. The man was seriously injured by the shot and had to be taken to hospital.

The three other men were able to flee the scene. The 34-year-old used a dark-coloured Mercedes Vito with the registration W-DK 1601 to get away. Police and public prosecutors said this morning the 31-year-old was detained in the early hours of the morning. The ongoing search has been extended to the Wuppertal area. A murder squad has taken over the investigations.

Witnesses who have any information about the man or his whereabouts should immediately call police on the emergency number 110. Police are also looking for witnesses to the dispute in front of the Rheinbach town hall. Anyone with information should call 0228 150.
