COLOGNE/LEVERKUSEN A 17-year-old died in a Leverkusen hospital following the consumption of ecstasy. Cologne police are now warning the public about the dangers of the deadly drugs in circulation.
On Wednesday, a 17-year-old died in a Leverkusen hospital after taking an ecstasy pill. The teen had consumed drugs with life-threatening concentrations. Police investigators seized the ecstasy pills from the deceased.
Experts from the Düsseldorf State Criminal Police Office (LKA) found that the pill contained so much MDMA that it was twice as strong as conventional ecstasy pills. The responsible Criminal Investigation Department has begun investigations into the origin of the pills that were seized.
After the death of the 17-year-old, the Cologne police issued a warning. Even taking one and a half tablets can have a fatal effect. According to the investigators, it is a two-color tablet in the typical "Sprite" design, with a green surface and a red underbody.
