From next Monday, 28 October, until 14 December, National Express will operate a train of the Rhein-Ruhr-Express (RRX) on the line RB 48. The train departs from Bonn main station at 6.08 a.m. and travels via Cologne main station to Wuppertal-Oberbarmen. The train will commute three times between Domstadt and Wuppertal in both directions during the day. In the evening it starts at 5.13 p.m. from Wuppertal for its last journey, which then ends at Bonn Central Station. According to National Express, the train is in service from Monday to Friday.

National Express is thus reacting to possible bottlenecks with its own Talent-2 vehicles due to impending repairs, the company announced. The procedure has been agreed with the affected authorities, such as the Rhineland public transport authority. The RRX train used is double-decker and offers 400 seats per train section. The coaches are air-conditioned and have free Wlan. Special windows will also improve mobile radio reception compared to older trains.
